Loose and Lively Sketching

For this creative workshop, artist Gina Youens arrived at CoLab with armfuls of beautiful autumn foliage for learners to sketch. A variety of tools and mediums were experimented with, as learners built their own colour reference sheets using coloured inks. Both watercolour brushes and ink pens were then used to create line, texture, and colour washes. One learner commented that the session had given them the confidence to dig out a set of inks sitting in their loft.
