    Join us for our weekly drop in and strip down and rebuild old motorbikes. Birthed out of a desire a space where Men can chat and build community around a communal project. No experience needed, just a willingness to muck in and meet new folks. We mainly work on Honda CG 125 as they are simple, light and parts are widely available.

    We’ll be running two sessions a week on Thursdays. No need to book just come along to whichever time is best for you.

I believe that we all have a story we bring, experiences to muse on and words that we can share. This group exists to build community, grow in creativity and inspire us to live more wholehearted lives.

    Meet outside Rockfish Seafood Restaurant on the Quay

    Chop & Chat is weekly drop-in session with Nathan at our workshop, where men are invited to come and chop, dry, and package wood for our Kind Kindling project, whilst also providing a safe and welcoming space for honest conversation about life, mental health, recovery, family & everything in between. Our hope is that Chop & Chat will help reduce stigma around men’s mental health, providing a non-judgemental space where men can talk, encourage, and support one another over a cuppa, whilst they chop wood together.

  • Nature Printing

    Using leaves and found objects make an interesting and colourful collage. You will learn how to apply paint, simple printing techniques, composition. We can add some colourful cut out leaves in the style of Matisse’s cut outs as well. These can be made into pictures, cards , tags , presents.

    This nationally recognised Level 3 first aid qualification is aimed at businesses that are low risk and have small numbers of staff who are over 18. All learners will acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to respond as Emergency First Aider’s, providing treatment to casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner.

  • Prana: Wellbeing of Breathing

    Join Jola in this interesting and practical workshop exploring our connection to our breath and how “good” breathing can enhance our lives. Our breath brings oxygen into our body so that we can thrive. When we are physically or emotionally stressed, it affects how we breathe. Breathwork helps to calm our stress and bring balance to our body. Breathwork is a way to activate our body's parasympathetic nervous system and help us de-escalate and de-stress. That can also lead to all kinds of positive feelings. Breathwork helps us with focus and energy, which can lead to a better quality of life. Throughout the day we will explore different breathing techniques, yoga, and meditation. By the end of the session, participants should have a few new wellbeing tools for their mental mental health toolbelt.

  • Extra Time Hub

    Every Tuesday - 10.30am to 12.00pm

    Social Cafe, St James Park, Grecian Centre

    Hundreds of people have joined the Extra Time hubs which are run at 11 EFL clubs. The Hubs allow people to decide which activities they want to do and not be prescribed for them. Activities vary from quizzes to arts, music and crafts and even bungee jumping! Although we are yet to see bungee jumping at St James Park! Pop in for a hot drink and a biscuit.

    The sessions are a perfect way to socialise, participate in group activity and achieve higher mobility. The sessions are FREE to attend and are welcoming to all newcomers.

  • Opportunity Club

    Every Tuesday - 12.00 to 1.00pm

    Wonford Sports Centre

    Opportunity Club is a unique project in Exeter which uses football and activity to engage people who may be struggling with mental health issues, homeless or vulnerable.

    The sessions are run in partnership with homeless and other support organisations, including the Amber Foundation, RISE, Julian House, CoLab and the YMCA. Previous participants have gone on to become settled and find employment thanks to the constructive environment of the Opportunity Club.

  • Walking Football - Wonford

    Every Tuesday - 11.00am to 12.00pm

    Wonford Sports Centre (Indoor)

    Walking Football is ideal for those who would like a gentle re-introduction to physical activity or who want to improve their fitness.The sessions are split into ten-minute games so participants can do as much, or as little, as they feel appropriate.

    Our participants are made to feel welcome and the groups have developed long-lasting friendships. You can be as competitive as you like, with some players going on to represent Exeter City in international tournaments.

  • Sporting Memories

    Every Thursday - 10.00 to 11.30am

    St James Park, Grecian Centre

    Using the rich history and heritage of sport, our Sporting Memories club is open to those over the age of 50 who enjoy reminiscing about their experiences of watching or playing sport.

    Many of our members attend to enjoy the company of other older sports fans, some of our members live with dementia or have memory problems, some have experienced depression, they may have had a stroke or live with Parkinson’s, all have one thing in common, a love for sport and the enjoyment from discussing their favourite sporting moments over a cup of tea and cake.

    There is always great fun and laughter in the sessions. New friendships are forged and some remarkable sporting stories often emerge.

  • Fabulous Fairytales Part 2: Storybook Illustrations

    Wedesday 26th March to 2nd April 2025 - 10.30am to 12.30pm

    The course is open to learners who attended our Fabulous Fairytales course and to anyone who is interested in experimenting with paper silhouettes to illustrate stories.

    Over two weeks we will create illustrations based on the characters, objects and settings featuring in creative writing produced as part of the course Fabulous Fairytales: From Folklore to Modern Stories. We will work with paper and colour to explore simple and traditional silhouettes inspired by iconic illustrator JanPieńkowski.

  • Mugshot Magic: Create Pottery Portrait Mugs

    Tuesday 22nd April to 10th June 2025 - 10.00am to 12.30pm

    Join us on this mindful course to craft functional mugs, with a twist! You will make a mug and create a fantastical face on it - this might be a selfie, a pop star or other famous person. Using terracotta clay and colourful slips (coloured liquid clay) your work will be fired and glazed as earthenware before being returned to you to keep. Ideal for beginners or returners - no experience needed.

  • Creative Writing: Writing for Children

    If you've ever had an interest in creating stories for children but have been unsure where to start, then come along to this relaxed and friendly class. Over 5 weeks you'll look at what makes a good story for a younger audience and start to create your own characters and plotline.

    This themed Creative Writing course is dedicated to the rhythm and rhyme of sonnets. A sonnet is a form of poem loved by William Shakespeare. Sonnets are usually based on one theme with mood and focus shifting through rhyming patterns. Come along and try your hand at producing your own sonnets using a variety of prompts. See how far you can go!

  • Creative Writing: Female Voices in Art

    Tuesday 3rd to 24th June 2025 - 10.30am to 12.30pm

    Join us in a friendly and creative atmosphere to explore the female image as portrayed in art. Using a range of prompts you will be re-creating the female voice behind the image - who is she and what is her story?

    We will be considering social influences and societal pressures and how these might have impacted the depictions we see, but you may also want to give your writing a contemporary twist!

  • Creative Writing: Retelling Greek Myths and Legends

    Greek mythology may date back to Ancient Greece but many of these tales are still applicable today. In this friendly group we will be exploring five famous characters from Greek Myths and you will be exploring and developing a re-creation of their stories.

    This class will introduce you to simple ingredients you can keep in your kitchen cupboards to make low-cost, eco-friendly home cleaning products. Along with an introduction to essential oils we can add to our cleaning recipes, we’ll discuss the ways smell can enhance our moods to promote positive feelings. We'll consider mindfulness in everyday tasks and how cleaning can be a good form of stress relief and exercise. You will have the opportunity in this class to make simple cleaning products for home use.

    Using the ‘Pelican Printing Press’, a beautiful antique wooden letterpress, alongside a range of printmaking techniques, create a range of exciting text based outcomes.

    This is a 2 day adult learning course. Using the ‘Pelican Printing Press’, create a range of exciting text based outcomes from posters to graphic prints producing a series of unique, personal artworks, bringing your ideas and imagination to life. No previous experience necessary, this workshop is open to all abilities and will be delivered in our street level accessible space.
